SIMEONE CAR MUSEUM TRIP - MAY 23rd

What: The PA5 is planning a trip to the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. The Simeone Foundation is reportedly the 2nd largest private collection of cars in the US, second only to Jay Leno's. It is one of the few places where you can not only see rare and beautiful sports racing cars, you can hear them run as well! And, not only is each car in the collection rare, but also has an interesting racing and/or ownership history. It is a must see for anyone remotely interested in cars.

The PA5 event is planned for May 23rd, a Demo Day at the Simeone Foundation. The Demo Day will start with Dr. Simeone and Museum Curator Kevin Kelly talking about the history and mechanics of each featured car. They’ll open up the hoods and let you see the engines. Then, they’ll drive the cars on their 3-acre lot in back of the Museum. The featured cars for the May 23rd Demo Day will be the $4+ million prize of the collection, the Cobra Daytona Coupe (the first one ever built and one of the few in existence), and the Ford GT40 MKII (one of the last ever built).

This is a great idea ... we've also invited automotive aficionados from the Philadelphia alumni association.
